“With the lights out, it’s less dangerous, Here we are now, entertain us, I feel stupid and contagious, Here we are now, entertain us.”
Groundbreaking in his field, BUA is internationally known for his best-selling collection of fine art posters – The DJ being one of the most popular prints of all time. His subjects generally focus on the world of Hip Hop, Rap, DJ’s, Break Dancing and Urban themes. Because of his love of all music, he decided to create the Icons of Rock Series of giclees on paper.
A talented yet troubled grunge performer, Kurt Cobain was the frontman for Nirvana and became a rock legend in the 1990’s with albums “Nevermind” and “In Utero”. Like many musicians before him, Cobain had a troubling and unstable home life. Leaving home at the age of seventeen, he formed his first band, Fecal Matter, and their first gig was at a house party. In 1988 Nirvana was born. Despite the bands success Cobain still struggled with his inner demons and addictions. Kurt and wife Courtney Love had several run ins with police because of violent, drug addled fights. Sadly, Kurt was unable to resolve his problems and he committed suicide in 1994 just as Nirvana was shooting to fame. Bua’s image of Kurt is one of promise and innocence with no hint of the pain he was experiencing.
With only fifty in this special Icons of Rock edition this is a must have for any Kurt Cobain fan!
All images are special order and will take 10 days to two weeks to deliver.
