Purple Haze all around, don’t know if I’m coming up or down. Am I happy or in misery? Whatever it is, that girl put a spell on me.”
Groundbreaking in his field, BUA is internationally known for his best-selling collection of fine art posters – The DJ being one of the most popular prints of all time. His subjects generally focus on the world of Hip Hop, Rap, DJ’s, Break Dancing and Urban themes. Because of his love of all music, he decided to create the Icons of Rock Series of giclee’s on paper.
Guitarist, singer, and songwriter Jimi Hendrix delighted audiences in the 1960s with his outrageous electric guitar playing skills and his experimental sound. Born in Seattle, Washington in 1942, he got his first guitar at the age of sixteen. Like many performers, music was his way of insulating himself from a difficult childhood. He loved blues and rock and roll. Hendrix’s first electric guitar was a right-handed guitar he had to play upside down because he was a “lefty.” One of his most memorable performances was at Woodstock in 1969 when he played the Star-Spangled Banner. Hendrix died in London in 1970 at the age of 27. Bua’s image Red, White and Jimi portrays Hendrix’s intensity and focus that was present every time he stepped on a stage.
With only fifty in this special Icons of Rock edition this is a must have for any Jimi Hendrix fan!
